It’s officially Summer Vacation time out in these parts, which means my girls – both teachers – are up to their usual summer shenanigans.
Me? At the office, taking care of the pets, and trying really hard to not talk to myself!
I’ve gotten used to our daughter not being home, considering she moved out 5 years ago, has a husband and their own place, etc. But when the Mrs. is gone, I tell ya, it’s unsettling.
It’s weird, I actually like seclusion. I’m mildly antisocial, unless I know you. I enjoy having time to myself. But when my wife is out of town, I feel oddly lonely. And sleep? Forget about it…
Thankfully, it’s just one more night. I pick them up at the airport tomorrow night after work. But truthfully I’m not looking forward to another restless night and another work day with little-to-no-sleep. Only another 28 hours to go!
Anyhow, nothing exciting to report on…just spending my lunch break doing something to keep me occupied. Hope y’all are doing well out there and enjoying the change of seasons.
